Her.

Right after researching some scanning software, I was putting food away in the frig last night when I felt the strongest jab ever on the left side of my tummy.  It didn’t hurt or anything but it sure was surprising.  I have had an inkling that I could already feel the baby moving inside of me around week 11 (little flutters here and there) but according to my doctor when I brought it up, he said it was impossible as it was too early.  But hey, it’s my body — I should know, right?  But fine.. I dismissed it (well, not really) and pretended like I agreed with everyone that it might be everything else but the baby.  But last night?  Okay, there’s NO mistaking that.  My baby was making his or her presence known.

And I’ve been feeling her all day today.  14 weeks on Saturday, still a ways to go.

P.S. Watch This!

I love, love, love “P.S. I love You.” It is such and incredibly romantic chick flick. Even thought the plot deals with the death of a woman’s soul-mate, their love helps her overcome his death through a series of letters he write he post mortem.

She reads each letter and her whole face lights up as he tells her to experience new things and get on with life. The film is beautiful shot with flashbacks of the couple, Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler. It is also shot in Ireland and the scenery is so lush and unbelievable. It made me want to turn off my satellite tv and go to Ireland right then!

My favorite scene is when the couple meets. Hilary Swank’s character is lost in the vast countryside and she runs into Butler. He leads her back to civilization as they spend time talking and laughing. I love that they meet by chance and it seems to be fate. He tricks her into a kiss and after she runs away claiming, “if I see you again we know it was meant to be!” Luckily, they meet once more.

She eventually realizes to let her husband go and move on with her life as a show designer. The movie is perfect in every aspect and it makes me smile at the hope it offers.

Road trip.

I am a little bummed that our summer didn’t include any out of town trips this year.  I can’t even remember if we traveled last summer.. which kinda makes me even more bitter for Erynne (okay, fine.. I’m bitter for myself, really).  But that’s life.  We have a few things coming up in our lives that have to take priority and some big ticket items that come with it so I guess we have to play that responsible game that adults do.  Bleeeh.

On a happier note, my cousin A and his family from Alaska are currently on a road trip.  Yes, I wanted us to join but hubby wasn’t able to get the time off on such short notice.  Unfortunately, I got a text from them the other day that they had to stop a little longer in Los Angeles because their Ford Explorer unexpectedly broke down on their way to San Diego.  They are all okay — including my 4 nieces and nephews.  Good thing we have family nearby because our other cousin M was able to help them find a Los Angeles auto repair shop right away.  Turns out there was a problem with the head gasket.

As I type this, they are on their way to Legoland.  I hope they surprise us with a visit.  Wishful thinking!

Neighborhood watch just doesn’t cut it.

Do you guys have home security systems installed in your home?  Which one?  I have never grown up with a home security system — I grew up at a time and in a town where you could easily leave your doors unlocked overnight and maybe your only problem would have been a bear looking for some food.  No joke.  While I don’t feel the need for a home security system just yet, I know it wouldn’t hurt to have one.  Afterall, we live in some crazy times and you can never only rely on your neighbors these days.

Craving.

Can you smell that wonderful aroma?  The husband’s in class and I’m starving.  Doesn’t pizza just sound so good right now?  Ate at this local pizza joint when we were in Monterey last weekend and boy, was it yummy.  Definitely have to go back there again (only a little more than a 1.5 hour drive away!).  We ordered half pepperoni and supreme something (the little girl doesn’t like to eat “complicated” pizza).

Might look like “blah” pizza but here, let’s get up close and personal so I can drool some more:

Pair this baby with a nice ice cold soda of your choice and it’s so on.  Whoever said anything about a diet?  Uh uh,  diet pill reviews were the last thing on my mind that night.

What my home says about me.

What Your Home Says About You

You don’t come across as very intellectual or serious. You seem like a bit of a goofball.

You have amazing hygiene, and it shows. You are sparkling clean!

You are a fairly domestic person. You can probably make a decent batch of home cooked cookies.

You are not a nurturing person by nature, but you can easily take care of someone you truly love.

You don’t feel settled in your life yet. You are scrambling to figure things out.

You are a very self sufficient person. You can get along well without much help.

Your friends see you as honest, humble, and responsible.

Hurrah!

I made it to the gym today.  So it might have only been for a 26-minute walk — that’s still something.  We were running late this morning so Erynne was only able to attend daycare for 30 minutes.  Without daycare being open, mommy can’t work out.

But hey, this is still cause for celebration.  I’ll be back tomorrow…. and the next day…. and the next day…. and yeah, hopefully the next day after that.  I may be losing the weight but it’s sloppy weight loss.  There’s nothing like being strong on the inside!

I need to focus.

I promised myself starting July 1st, I’d be back in the gym religiously (I haven’t gone since coming back from San Diego!).  I told DH I’d go every single day.  I think I’m setting myself up for failure folks.  I also have a weigh-in tomorrow night.  I can’t say I’ve been eating well as I’ve been skipping a lot of meals lately (somehow I think starving myself is going to help me lose weight, wth man?  After all I’ve gone through and learned with this weight-loss journey of mine, you’d think I’d know better, sheesh!).  I’ve been obsessed with furniture stores and ended up seeing the most perfect sofa set that would fit the vision I have for my living room.  I was really out to see if I could find a table but instead, I kept drooling and stroking the darn couch, I was so sad to leave it.  It comes in a sea foam color that I’ve been dreaming about these past few days.  Ugh.  I also window-shopped for some things to bring to Manila as my mom’s been bugging me about making sure I take advantage of the 6 boxes we’re allowed to bring on the plane.  My gad, what does she expect me to bring over there?  RICE?  Hahahahaha.  Wouldn’t be a bad idea though, come to think of it.  But still.. 6 boxes.  Guess I could finally get those golf balls Eric’s been wanting to give his ex-boss in Manila.

Sigh.  I want to be organized this week.  I need to.  My mind is a mambo jumbo of lists of things that need to be done.  It’s already summer yet it doesn’t feel that way.  I’m obviously spending too much time on nonsense.
