I keep saying I want to blog more often but every time I set out to do so, I get distracted and all momentum is lost. I know there’s some good money to be had (and you know it too!) if I could just take this a lot more seriously. I imagine with an seo software, I could find the best web directories to list my sites on so that I could be found on search engines. Afterall, traffic is what one needs in order to fully monetize one’s blog. With more time on my hands now that I’m only enrolled in one evening class this semester, I should consider blogging more seriously.

My aunt that just recently came to visit showed me her portable GPS. I’ve never been a fan of these because I always thought they would be a huge distraction while driving but apparently, they’re not (ignorant!). They’re actually pretty cool and something I know my mom could use. She’s lived in California for how many years now but she has only one basic route and that’s it. To get anywhere else, she has to ask me to find her directions on the computer. While I don’t mind this, I think it would be so much more convenient if I bought her her own GPS. They seem pretty straightforward so I don’t think she’d have trouble with it (you have to understand my mom doesn’t really know how to use electronics). And I might as well buy one for myself as I might end up being the one using it most of the time.

Even though DH gifted me with a brand new digital camera for our 4th anniversary this year, I was thisclose to buying another one — the waterproof and shockproof Olympus digital camera. Seeing as how klumsy I am and how Erynne loves to play with our gadgets, it would have been perfect for our trip. Plus, it could take underwater pictures — which was the main selling point for me. However, after reading reviews on it, eeeeeh. Sure I can be rough with it and I wouldn’t have to worry about putting a dent on it and yeah, it might have been a best buy at buy.com but quality isn’t all that high. Oh well. I’ll stick with my Casio.

The home behind us has been undergoing renovation for quite some time now. My mom was out on a walk when she came across the people who were renovating the home and being the nosy person that she is, she asked if she could peek inside. They let her and no sooner did she insist that I check it out too. The home is a bit smaller than ours but what I loved about the renovated home was that instead of having a family room (as we do), the new owner turned it into a functional backyard, complete with a nice deck and a raised area against the fence to grow some flowers. I wish we had a nice, big back deck as well but that would mean compromising space from the family room — something I don’t know I’d want to do as we spend all our time in the family room (the living room just sits there). I can just imagine how nice Market Umbrellas and some great chairs would look on a big deck. Oh well. Someday.

I spent a rare day in front of the TV yesterday. First I was lounging on Erynne’s bed, all warm and cozy until the little girl wanted to cuddle with mommy (it’s a single bed and you all know I’m not skinny!). She then fell asleep in my arms and it wasn’t long before I transferred to the family room and planted myself once again in front of the TV. What was I watching? HGTV. I have this fetish for old homes (think original Craftsman-type homes). Never mind that they’re old (my cousin says ghosts live in old homes) because the inside can easily be renovated to look up to date (and well, ghosts only exist in Manila as far as I’m concerned). I should be thankful we have a home over our head but it’s not bad to dream about your real dream home, right? So right now, I’m obsessed. Really obsessed. And the first thing I’d tackle in my (old) dream home next to my chef kitchen? A beautiful spa-like shower stall big enough to fit 4 or 5 people. It has to have water coming out not only through the shower head but everywhere else too. I wonder if Danze faucets has anything like this?

When you don’t want it, it’s there. When you want it, it’s not there. Lame!
I’m in the mood to make money. But there’s no money to be made. What is going on? Is my blog that much of a loser?
Hay.

I wish our backyard was bigger. That way, we can put a trampoline in the back for Erynne. My friend M has one and her and her kids always seem to have the greatest time just goofing off on it. Plus, I bet I could do some exercises on it and burn some calories. With the summer weather soon approaching, a trampoline is perfect. We could always put it in the front yard but then that might invite neighbors to come join me or Erynne. And truth be told? I don’t like our neighbors.

I used to have this immense obsession with Saabs when I was younger. I loved, loved, loved those old turtle-shaped Saabs with a passion! They were so unique-looking and I wanted one in a deep green. I wanted one so bad. Then college came and when I brought up the subject, it was a big fat no — my dad said European cars were too expensive to maintain. Fine. When I become an adult, I said. Hahaha.
So after more than a decade, my obsession with Saabs has returned folks. I was browsing through cars and I saw their new line of Saabs. I like the SUV in particular (but still prefer the old turtle-shaped ones any day!). A black SUV with leather interior, a TV for Erynne, and some chrome accessories — I’d certainly be a happy girl.

My sister just moved into her new home at the beginning of this month. My mom and dad flew to Vegas to help her get settled — and I mean, really settle. Everything she (and her roommates) owned was put in a garage sale prior to them moving out of the home they were renting — in short, my sister had to buy even the most basic stuff like garbage cans, toilet cleaners, utensils, everything. And when I say everything, you can bet that includes furniture. Good thing she started a job this month. Her living room, kitchen and dining room are yet to be furnished — a future paycheck, she says. But what do you know? She’s not as patient as I thought — she came across some online payday loans the other day and is thinking about getting an advance so she can make her furniture purchases as early as now. She said she already pre-qualifies (she’s over 18, has a job and her bank account allows for direct deposit) and all she has to do is apply online. I told her to think about it as payday loans come with really high interest rates. Don’t get me wrong, payday loans aren’t bad — it’s just best to use them for times when you really need the money (like when you have to pay a credit card bill so as to not ruin your credit rating). I think my sister can definitely wait on those furniture purchases.
