The power of technology.

Amazing the things you find these days.  I’m no smoker but seriously?  Who would have thought anyone would ever come up with e-cigarettes?  Check this out:

A USB e-cigarette!  Whaaaaattt?  Wow, gotta love that technology stuff.  What’s next, right?  I know one person who would get a total trip out of this, for sure–my FIL.  This is something to consider for next Christmas indeed.

Just buy!

Okay, I know I was just bashing those UGG boots that you see practically everyone and their mamas wearing all over town.  But I am beating myself over and over again for not buying the chocolate pair I saw on sale last week for Erynne.  And to think they were already in my hand but I still put them back on the clearance rack because I just couldn’t justify paying so much for a pair of boots for a little girl.  Yes, I did say clearance — but they were still a pretty price.  So much for Black Friday.  I doubt I could find that good of a deal, but more importantly, that’s too long to wait.  Lesson?  When in doubt, BUY!

Splish splash.

Last week, we had so much rain that I felt I had no choice but to purchase rain boots for myself.  Well, I take that back — I got jealous of the little girl’s hello kitty rain boots so I went out and found a pair of boots that would be fun to wear.  And with my height, I had to make sure it wasn’t one of those pairs that went up to my knees.  While researching the best hair loss treatment, I found these:

Days after I ordered these, I also saw these:

FUN!!!!  Me like, me like!  They kinda remind me of Kate Spade wannabe’s but so what.  They’re green, they’re polka dots and I’d much rather be walking around with these than those please-not-another-UGG-face boots.  Sadly, overdue karma came and bit me in the arse because I had to return the boots because they were tight on my calves!  So sad — on so many different levels!  But whatever, I’m still not motivated to get workin’ on my weight loss goals this year.  I’m having too much fun.

PS.  You can’t see it but the purple ones have this ohsosoft thick, silky lining inside of the boot that keeps your toes nice and warm.  Divine!

Focus, focus, focus.

I’m in the middle of finishing my last final exam (it was a take-home exam that was decided last minute by the professor, woohoo!) but here I am, getting distracted by not only plasma mounts but surfing for other things that I really shouldn’t be doing right now.  Had a final this morning and had every intention of buckling down someplace quiet to make sure my evening would be free to work on another paper, but my head started pounding right after I took my final.  Change of plans ~ ended up at home, in bed.  Information overload, you think?

Lovely how I wait last minute on things when I could have easily done this last final last week (when it was distributed).  Old habits are indeed hard to break.  Christmas shopping?  Who?  Are you kidding me–not one person.  I plan to do all that when I get to Vegas as I’ll have less than a week to go before our Christmas party.  3 more days and we’re outta hea!

Black Friday.

So how’d you guys fare?  Get any good stuff?  I didn’t participate much; stayed on the sideline and window-shopped online.  Kudos to the hubby for actually getting up after only 3 hours of sleep to brave the crowds at 4 in the morning.  Even my mom got up and bought a couple boxes of down comforters in the wee hours of the morning.  Decided to get out of the house during the evening and headed to the mall.  Saw some UGG Classic Short boots that looked enticing, but beyond that, there was really nothing that caught my eye.  In fact, I thought the deals online were better.  But then again, we’re talking evening hours.

Off to class!

4 going on 14.

Erynne’s ballet/pre-tap class starts tomorrow.  It’ll be for an hour (which gives me time to run errands and make a stop at Costco for adult diapers for one of our residents).  She’s so excited — we bought her leotards, shoes and tights yesterday.  This morning, I made her try everything on.  Then my heart felt a little tug — my little Ernie is turning into a young lady already, no joke.  Did I tell you at her young age of 4, she loves wearing shoes with heels?  Without fail, each time we find ourselves in the shoe section of any store, her focus is on shoes with heels.  She also never leaves home without a bag (she has 6, last time I counted).  Yesterday, at H&M (yes, I went back again hahaha), she had 3 bags on her shoulders and was ready to pay at the cashier’s counter only for her dad to tell her she could only choose one.  I didn’t stick around to hear the bickering but by the time it was our turn at the cashier’s counter, Erynne was still pushing for another bag (she even tried to whisper it so it could be “our” secret, the sneaky kid!).  This morning, while out shopping for some shoes, she found a pair of silver wedge-sandaled mini-heels, held on to them for dear life and said, “Okay, we’re done, I found my shoes, these are mine, mine, mine.  Time to go!”

That’s my Ernie.

70-90% furniture clearance.

My cool neighbor from across the street dropped off a flyer for this furniture store in San Francisco that is having a 70-90% off clearance sale June 20 and 21.  This sale is only happening 4 days this year (it started yesterday and continues through  today and again, next weekend).  You won’t believe their mad pricing — area rugs starting at under 60 bucks and up (huge area rugs for a little over a hundred bucks, imagine?!), king bed frames for less than 200 bucks, leather sofas dirt cheap at around 300 bucks.  And I can vouch their stuff is nice and sturdy — at least, from what I saw of my neighbor’s home.  She bought a long, sturdy (heavy!), modern wood dining table for only $200.  Her eight matching wood/microfiber dining chairs were 50 bucks a piece — a $600 dining table that would have costed more than $2500 regular price.  This is perfect timing because we’ve been meaning to fix up Erynne’s room so that she can start sleeping by herself (hopefully, there are some discount lights available too — I know for a fact she won’t sleep in the dark!).  Will let you know how we fare next weekend since we won’t be able to make it today.

H&M.

After dropping Erynne off and paying some bills at the bank, I drove off to Milpitas to find the nearest Osh Kosh store so I can supposedly check out their 70% off sale.  What a joke.  I was at an outlet mall but surely their prices weren’t outlet-ish at all.  Nothing really stood out so I walked right out and decided to make the most of my 30-minute drive by walking around the mall.  First instinct told me to walk into Jollibee just so I could say I’d eaten something from there but realized that would be just mindless eating (which leads to weight gain which leads to why I am already overdue for diet pills!).  But I soon forgot about food when I saw that the mall had an H&M children’s store.  Took and peek and it’s official:  I am hooked on their clothes for kids.  Not sure how often they have sales but I must have scored because they had a ton of $3 and $5 sales on their tops and bottoms for children.  Woohoo!  My drive to Milpitas wasn’t wasted afterall.
