An update.

Do you guys create titles before you blog your entry or do you type first and go back and put a title when you realize what the jist of your entry is?

How is everyone?  There are tags I’d like to answer–and I will get to them–so please don’t think I’ve ignored you.  I know it seems I’m pretty good at ignoring people but trust me, I am lurking and reading and hopping even when you think I’m not.  I’m a born tsismosa, what can I say?  Meeya reminded me about this a few days – there are comments that I haven’t even responded to from who knows when.  I really appreciate your visits (I’ve hit over 20,000–thank you!) and hope that you will continue to visit me in spite of me “slacking off” (hello Jane!).  I really enjoy all this blogging stuff and I really do want to share so much but I just get sooooooo bogged down when I think about what I want to blog and I get tired just thinking about it.  End result?  No blogging!  It’s amazing how many of you have the energy to keep more than one blog (one of you as much as 7 or 8 blogs!  Gaaaaaazz!) whereas I can’t even keep up with this one.  But surprise, surprise: I have another blog in the making.  I won’t share it just yet as there’s obviously nothing on it.  It’ll be my weight-loss blog of sorts.

Fall is officially upon us so I think my blog is due for a new makeover.  New energy.  I need change.

And speaking of change, boy, I can definitely feel the difference in life these days.  I don’t know anything about Wall Street and all that funky stuff that’s happening right now but all I hear on TV is how we need to start pinching our pennies.  Ain’t that the truth.  It so happened that I took a good hard look at our finances less than a month ago and faced the truth:  we were happily living beyond our means.  That’s all changed now (we’re on a roll!) and I can’t tell you how much savings can be had by changing a few habits here and there.  And I had the shock of my life at the grocery store this weekend when one lady had racked up close to $57 in groceries only for it to go down to a mere $16.54 because she had 3 or so coupons with her!  OH MY GOD.  My eyes were ready to pop out of my head.  I remember wanting to chase her down just so I could ask her what her magic was.  You can bet, since then, I’ve personally saved all newspaper clippings with all them grocery sales happening around the area.  If you know me, you’d be shocked out of your pants.  My family likes to refer to me as, “one day millionaire, next day broke.”  Heh!  How you like me now, I say.

And it’s great that we’re on a ‘financial plan’ (as I like to call it) as you do remember me talking about Ohio, right?  It’s still a part of our master plan but now, we’re actually doing something towards that goal (read: we’re being responsible a-dults).  We hope to be there in more or less than a year if everything goes as planned.

And how can I forget to share I’ve lost over 40 pounds at last!  40.6 pounds to be exact.  I was really hoping to hit 43 pounds but I realize now, what was I thinking?  That would be unhealthy weight-loss (because afterall, I already lost 4.6 pounds the week before in just one week).  A few more pounds to go (Jane and Aggie, we’re almost there!) and I’ll have a reason to possibly start scouting for baby bedding. Stay tuned!

Which reminds me, I have to finally make that doctor’s appointment not only for myself but for the family.  Erynne’s up for vaccinations next month and hubby needs to get a complete check-up.  I absolutely dread going to the doctor’s.  Who am I to talk?  I don’t even have a doctor.

Total weight loss to date: 39.6 pounds.

I didn’t blog about it but I’m happy to share that I lost 4.6 pounds last week!  And note that I did that without having to take the best diet pill out there.  Woohoo!  It truly helped that I started tracking my food every single day up to my Monday night weigh-in.  Everything that I popped into my mouth was accounted for.  It also helped that my mom has now joined Weight Watchers.  I’ve been teaching her how the whole system works so there’s absolutely no way that I can cheat and not track my foods.  What kind of an example would I be then?

I think I’m getting my groove back.  If you remember, I lost 4.8 pounds my very first week on Weight Watchers.  So this 4.6 pounds is exactly what the doctor ordered to get me up and running again.  I won’t be able to make it to 96 pounds by the end of the year but losing over 60 pounds will be just as delicious.

I’m excited for tomorrow night’s weigh-in.  I’m hoping I’ve lost at least 2 pounds since Monday but I’ll be over the moon with a loss of 3 pounds.  Stay tuned!

On acne.

If you’ve followed my blog, you’ll know I’ve been pretty vocal about needing acne treatment.  I went on Accutane when I was in highschool and was able to enjoy years and years of pimple-free skin (with the exception of one or two zits that would pop up when that time of month came along).  These days, either I’m getting hit with adult acne or what I’m using to wash my face just isn’t doing it.  I have bumps and some red spots on my skin that really need some attention.  Yet I don’t want to see a dermatologist.  Aren’t I funny?  The Mary Kay Timewise system really did wonders on my skin years back when I started getting really bad zits 7 or 8 years ago — so much so that I’m thinking about going back to it.  What’s sad, however, is that the MK line has now divided its cleansers between combo/oily skin and normal/dry skin and the last time I tried the combo/oily skin cleanser, things didn’t work out as well as I’d remembered.  I wonder if the Quezon City MK branch store has the old MK Timewise cleansers or if they too have the new cleansers?  I swear the old Timewise (3-in-1) cleanser was one of the greatest things EVER invented by man.

I think this was in grade school, I kissed a boy on the cheek for a dare.  Or maybe I just wanted to, LOL.

2. When was your first real relationship and how long did it last?
I started crushing on this guy when I was 12yo.  We then became a couple when I was 15.  We broke up when I was 17 cuz I started crushing on someone else.  Hehe.

3. What age were you allowed to date?
I was never allowed to date.  Not that guys wanted to date me haha.  Everything was always done in total secrecy.

4. What’s the craziest thing you did (for love) when you were a teenager?
Everything with me is always crazy, I can’t tell the difference anymore.

5. How long was your longest relationship and what’s the secret?
Definitely has to be my marriage.  We’ll celebrate 5 years of marriage in January.  Secret?  Whatever I say goes.  KIDDING!

6. How long did you date before you decided to settle down?
We officially met on December 23, 2003.  We married January 12, 2004.  No typo here.

7. How did you know he was the ONE?
I was brave enough to tell my parents I wanted to marry someone I’d never met before.  If you know me at all, I don’t share my boyfriend tales with my parents.  So to stick up for and present someone so far away, that gave me a few ideas..

8. Now, at what age will you allow your kids(s) to date?
I’d prefer during college but if cupid strikes them during highschool, so be it.

9. When it comes to your kids dating, will you be a cool parent or a strict parent?
Cool parent because I want to know their secrets hehe.  Her dad will be the strict parent.  Balance, see.

10. What piece of advice can you give to your child when they start dating?
When you think you’re in love, trust me – this too shall pass.

Sugar.

We were somewhere in D’Mall and we were looking for a place to eat breakfast one morning (Smoke was closed unfortunately).  Erynne had taken a walk with her lolo towards the beach (does Aria front the beach?) and were on their way back to us when she stopped and took off her Crocs.

Me:  Babe, what are you doing?  You can’t walk barefoot!  Ants will bite you.

Erynne:  Wait.  There’s sugar in my shoes, mommy.

We all laughed.  Funny what kids come up with.

NAIA 3.

I will use whatever airline I need in order to be able to walk through this airport more often.  I love its new-ness and how spacious it is.  See for yourself:

so many baggage carousels!

7 carousels in all!

such a nice airport

All they need now is to get some really YUMMY food places in there and it’d be perfect.  I hope it remains clean.  I’d love to fly through this airport each and everytime I land in Manila.

Sidestory:  We weren’t expecting to fly into this airport at all on our return from Boracay.  We came into some problems with PAL (Express) and because of this, I don’t know that I’d want to fly them again, them bastards.  First off, prior to flying to Boracay, we were given several weeks notice that we’d be able to fly out of Caticlan for no additional fees as our original flight from Kalibo was cancelled due to marketing reasons.  Fine (that excited me that we wouldn’t have to travel less than 2 hours to get to our airport and the Two Seasons transfer would be cheaper as well).  We thought everything was squared and done as Two Seasons had already confirmed us a day in advance that our flight was all set.  Upon arrival at the Caticlan airport, I get the shock of my life when we walk into a hot, tiny room they choose to call as part of their “airport.”  It was so crowded!  If you know me at all, sorry but I’m not cowboy enough to deal with swarms of people in such hot conditions.  There were no lines; security guards simply told you to wait on the side and the agents would get to you when they were done with the customers.  Right, like I’m going to stand patiently in a hot room with only a few fans to keep everyone’s dispositions cool (and what about Erynne who isn’t used to hot heat like that?!).  Oh hell no.  Then imagine the shock of my life when I get to the counter (which, I have to say, is so scary because you can hear and see planes right near the check-in counter!  Only in the Philippines, I swear!) and I’m told our flight’s been rerouted–again–back to Kalibo airport due to flight cancellation.  OMG.  Whatever my parents taught me about respecting older people went down the drain as I was beyond livid.  I was throwing insults here, there and everywhere knowing full well that I was simply wasting my energy on people who could care less what I was saying.  Granted our transportation was going to be provided for, I was pissed that we hadn’t been informed earlier (naturally I was cursing Two Seasons staff as well) so that we could have had a nice airconditioned van to ourselves instead of cramming ourselves with a ton of other people on a coaster bus (a PAL and Asian Spirit flight had both been rerouted to Kalibo airport).  Ugh.  But it doesn’t stop there folks.  At the Kalibo airport, because it was already closed, there were no porters to assist with baggages AND we had to go through another worthless security check.  Keep in mind we have 3 toddlers with us who were, at the time, cranky, sleepy and hungry.  I was a bit calmer at this point but still VERY pissed off — I mean, we’re talking PAL (Express) here.  Aren’t mishaps like this supposed to only happen with Cebu Pacific?!  Obviously not!

Yes, they fed us.  Jollibee chicken!  Can’t complain much cuz well, it’s food, it’s fried chicken and the kids loved it.  That’s all that mattered really.  However, when we continued to sit there doing nothing after almost an hour of waiting and it was apparent there were 2 planes outside, I took a quick stroll over to some men who were standing behind an office.  They ingored me until I sarcastically asked them if the plane had any plans of leaving for Manila.  One of the smaller men gave me back some attitude and said the plane would be ready in “a few minutes.”  The nerve for Mr. Molester to snarl right back at me!  They could have been playing soduku for all I knew.  Fine, I thought — I was willing to give the molester “a few minutes” even though we’d already been travelling and waiting for close to 4 hours.  After 15 or so more minutes, I couldn’t stand it anymore.  I walked right back up to Mr. Molester, knocked on their stupid window and demanded to know if the plane was ready.  He looked up (so what if he wasn’t happy with me nagging him — THIS WAS BEYOND BULLSHIT ALREADY!) and you won’t believe what happened right after.  He walked out of the office, talked into his walkie talkie, walked towards the PAL plane (note that it was one of those turbo prop planes which I was trying to avoid from the beginning that’s why we flew into Kalibo airport) and literally within 5 minutes, we were asked to board.  Good thing it wasn’t raining or I would have probably murdered someone cuz the kids would have been soaked.  The point?  The plane was ready all along!  Mr. Molester made us wait on purpose!  If I hadn’t bugged him one last time, who knows when we would have left!  My mouth was ready for another round of insults but I realized we were so close to being back in Manila and truth be told, I was getting all crazy nervous because we were on one of those turbo prop planes which I was trying to avoid from the beginning…

Gotta love the customer service in the Philippines, that’s all I have to say.

This can’t be true!

I had the semi-shock of my life when I stumbled upon this entry.

&#$^#(@)@!!!!

WTH?  What the freaking hell?!

This is sad folks – as of Monday, September 8, my total weight loss to date is 35 pounds (don’t make me explain but yes, I am confirming I am failing somewhat).  I’VE ONLY LOST LESS THAN 5 POUNDS SINCE MAY!!!

And note, I’m shocked.  Which is entirely stupid, if you ask me because there’s evidence everywhere to explain how and why this happened.

Yet, I’m still shocked.  To the bones.

I need some time to digest this.  This is beyond disgusting.

I need a good @ss kicking where the sun doesn’t shine.  And how.
