Ha, I’m one to talk.
The husband is griping that he’s “just so fat.” Okay, and that makes me what? What annoys me to the nth power is that he seems to be coming from some kind of wacked up culture where losing weight slowly is a joke. Why can’t one be happy with half of a pound weight loss every week? That’s 2 pounds in a month! Multiply that by 12 and that’s 24 pounds a year. Times that by 2 years and that’s 48 pounds. This is so elementary! But whatever. Go stuff yourself with fat burners for all I care. Better yet, knock yourself out with this liporexall review that has your name written all over it! (Did I tell you he loves fat burners but gradually, I’ve had him lay off of that stuff because I don’t think they’re healthy?). MEN!

And this is on top of the sale prices already.

The One that Waits
Dominant in relationships. Someone loves them right now. Always wants the last word. Caring. Smart. Loud. Loyal. Easy to talk to. Everything you ever wanted. Easy to please. A pushover. Loves to gamble and take chances. Needs to have the last say in everything. They think they know everything and usually do. Respectful to others but you will quickly lose their respect if you do something untrustworthy towards them and never regain respect. They do not forgive and never forget. The one and only.
(Got this from Van through e-mail. Not sure who the source is.. but I like it

There is nothing more annoying to me (lie, I’m sure I can list a few others) than putting the kid down for a nap (do your toddlers still take naps?) when the handy dandy gardener, Arturo, (that’s not his real name but I enjoy rolling my r’s too much to correct myself) comes along and decides to clean up the front and backyard. At almost 2 in the afternoon! He’s got all day to do this, why now? Why?
Good thing I had a yummy lunch today. I still know how to count my blessings, see. Sigh.

I almost forgot Father’s Day is coming up. How terrible of me. What are you guys getting the dads in your life? My dad is going to be with us this year so I’m real happy. Him and E are fairly easy to shop for (because God knows I wouldn’t know a thing about buying satellite radios if, for instance, one of them hinted for one). E has been researching on badminton shoes for the longest time. Me thinks I should just go out and get them for him but at the same time, I have a feeling he’d much prefer something more personal from Erynne and I. I’d prefer that too, to tell you the truth. Not that I’m cheap but really, personal gifts are the best — whether that be a hand-written letter or card with a picture, etc. Not that I have anything against giving things like badminton shoes or satellite radios or any other gift for that matter. Thoughtful gifts just mean more to me.

I think. I hit my 46-pound mark a few Sundays ago. Haven’t had the guts to go back to Weight Watchers because I fear I’ve gained again. Loser, I know. Or wait, more like coward. I told myself this morning I would go back and get weighed in but guess where we headed to instead? A breakfast place in Burlingame where the three of us shared 3 gigantic, fluffy pancakes, wheat toast with jam, hash browns with onions and green bell peppers, and a cheesy omelet with salami, mushrooms, red bell peppers, onions, chives and sour cream. Breakfast of champions, wouldn’t you say? It didn’t help that lunch was at a Thai resto in Millbrae where the food wasn’t all that but I ate it still. Sigh. I refuse to give in to the best weight loss pills. I’ve lost 46 pounds once in my life without having to resort to anything artificial, why start now?

Erynne’s ballet/pre-tap class starts tomorrow. It’ll be for an hour (which gives me time to run errands and make a stop at Costco for adult diapers for one of our residents). She’s so excited — we bought her leotards, shoes and tights yesterday. This morning, I made her try everything on. Then my heart felt a little tug — my little Ernie is turning into a young lady already, no joke. Did I tell you at her young age of 4, she loves wearing shoes with heels? Without fail, each time we find ourselves in the shoe section of any store, her focus is on shoes with heels. She also never leaves home without a bag (she has 6, last time I counted). Yesterday, at H&M (yes, I went back again hahaha), she had 3 bags on her shoulders and was ready to pay at the cashier’s counter only for her dad to tell her she could only choose one. I didn’t stick around to hear the bickering but by the time it was our turn at the cashier’s counter, Erynne was still pushing for another bag (she even tried to whisper it so it could be “our” secret, the sneaky kid!). This morning, while out shopping for some shoes, she found a pair of silver wedge-sandaled mini-heels, held on to them for dear life and said, “Okay, we’re done, I found my shoes, these are mine, mine, mine. Time to go!”
That’s my Ernie.

My cool neighbor from across the street dropped off a flyer for this furniture store in San Francisco that is having a 70-90% off clearance sale June 20 and 21. This sale is only happening 4 days this year (it started yesterday and continues through today and again, next weekend). You won’t believe their mad pricing — area rugs starting at under 60 bucks and up (huge area rugs for a little over a hundred bucks, imagine?!), king bed frames for less than 200 bucks, leather sofas dirt cheap at around 300 bucks. And I can vouch their stuff is nice and sturdy — at least, from what I saw of my neighbor’s home. She bought a long, sturdy (heavy!), modern wood dining table for only $200. Her eight matching wood/microfiber dining chairs were 50 bucks a piece — a $600 dining table that would have costed more than $2500 regular price. This is perfect timing because we’ve been meaning to fix up Erynne’s room so that she can start sleeping by herself (hopefully, there are some discount lights available too — I know for a fact she won’t sleep in the dark!). Will let you know how we fare next weekend since we won’t be able to make it today.

After dropping Erynne off and paying some bills at the bank, I drove off to Milpitas to find the nearest Osh Kosh store so I can supposedly check out their 70% off sale. What a joke. I was at an outlet mall but surely their prices weren’t outlet-ish at all. Nothing really stood out so I walked right out and decided to make the most of my 30-minute drive by walking around the mall. First instinct told me to walk into Jollibee just so I could say I’d eaten something from there but realized that would be just mindless eating (which leads to weight gain which leads to why I am already overdue for diet pills!). But I soon forgot about food when I saw that the mall had an H&M children’s store. Took and peek and it’s official: I am hooked on their clothes for kids. Not sure how often they have sales but I must have scored because they had a ton of $3 and $5 sales on their tops and bottoms for children. Woohoo! My drive to Milpitas wasn’t wasted afterall.
