I am itching for a vacation. These past few days have found me on almost every travel site just trying to figure out where to go — and when. July is completely shot so that leaves us with the months of June and August to go anywhere. We’re at a point in our lives now where our vacations are limited to summers, Spring Breaks and Christmas breaks since Erynne is now in school. *pause* Well, that is if we must include Erynne in all of our vacation plans, right? One time, I found a great (read: inexpensive) package to Ireland (air, accomodations, car rental, etc!) for the hubby and I. I thought it would be a great treat for us as we’ve always wanted to visit Ireland (blame it on the movie, P.S. I Love You!). The response I got? “What about Erynne? I thought you wanted to bring our kid(s) all over the world.” Ahm… okay. Not quite the scene I was imagining in Ireland so scratch that, shall we? And with all this Swine Flu talk going around, a cruise or land package to Mexico is out of the question — at least, for now (which is kinda lame since I’m in the mood for a cruise… and no, I don’t want to take any more Caribbean cruises for a while). And that “there’s always Disneyland and Erynne would love that…” — sorry, I won’t settle for just going to Disneyland. That’s practically down the street so that shouldn’t count as vacation.
